The products made here at Brook studio are always of the highest quality and the materials used are carefully selected for each project with consideration given to the design. One piece will require clean, straight timber free of defects whilst another may call for something with a bit more character. This is why timber is sourced from large commercial yards as well individuals who supply timber rescued by tree surgeons. Occasionally we are informed of a tree that is due to be felled and we will organise the milling of that tree ourselves, before air-drying the boards for future use. Off-cuts from furniture are often used for smaller products, given away to local artisans or used to heat the workshop.

The rush used in the stools and benches will typically be harvested in Somerset or from the Thames, depending on who is weaving it, whilst the leather used in the Shaker boxes comes from Newcastle.
